Boxout UK Community host Creative Industry Mixer at Grosvenor Road Studios

Earlier this month, Boxout UK Community hosted a unique event for Birmingham-based creatives at the historic Grosvenor Road Studios.

Aiming to address the pain points of today's creatives, this industry mixer offered inspirational panel discussions, live music and exclusive networking opportunities with like-minded individuals from the creative community.

DJ Buxley, the founder of Box-Out UK, moderated the panel discussion featuring:

  • Jahmel C, DJ and co founder of global neighbourhood TRPHSE

  • Mexy Thomas, award-winning DJ, presenter + entrepreneur

  • Rene Davis, founder of Out the Box and Black at Work®️

  • and Johnathan Williams, photographer, videographer and content creator

DJ Buxley is a creative force with a passion for building brands and connecting people. As the founder of one of the most successful event brands in Birmingham, Boxout UK as well as other successful brands like Nolly Way, Jam Sessions UK, and Boxout Fest, DJ Buxley has made a significant impact on the city’s cultural scene.

Grosvenor Road Studios, formerly the renowned Hollick & Taylor Studios, has been operating as recording studios since the late 1940s and during that time many firsts have been recorded there including all the original sound effects for Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds and Stingray, the fabulous brass band rendition of Brighouse and Ratrick’s The Floral Dance and the first Brum Beat album, Jasper Carrott’s Funky Moped. It was acquired by the all-female a cappella quintet Black Voices in 2001, who continue to bring their diverse skills and knowledge of the music industry and community development to the studios.
